A Christmas Letter of Sorts

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the Nelson Friends and Family:

I know I have been really horrible at keeping up with these Christmas letters. So I am including some of 2007 in this one :-)

On October 20, 2007 Caitlyn married Brent Culver. We planned this wedding in about 4 weeks and therefore it was small and simple.

Here are Cait and Brent soon after they became Husband and Wife.

Two of Caitlyn's Bridesmaids were her lovely sisters Kendel and Taylor and they hammed it up for my camera.

We managed to get everyone home for the big event even with little notice. Aaron flew in from Death Valley California, and Kendel had that week off school so was able to be there for her sister. The hansome young man on the end is Kendel's hunny Kyle.

They will always be their daddy's girls

There was plenty of eating and while this photo is not the best it includes Dad, Kay, uncle Bobby, aunt Shirley, and Blaire and Carolyn Sturgill there somewhere. They all managed to escape my camera the entire night. Poor dad, I wore him out when he offered to help and got stuck putting together my arch for the wedding.

I got Roy's mom Anne, and sisters Judith and Tisa however :)

And my mom Carolyn didnt get away from my camera either.

After the food there was music and lots of dancing. The traditional father of the bride dance.

Yeah I tried a bit as well.

Caitlyn even got Aaron onto the floor and even a smile for the camera

Dad took Kendel and Taylor for a strole as well, although I only got a photo of Kendel and her daddy.

Kendel and Kyle strutted their stuff.

And Kendel and Cait well they did something.....

Caitlyn showed Brent she has horns.

And then acted like she was an angel

The Nelson house began January in the snow. In southern Oregon when we get much snow school closes and traffic is terrifying but it is sure pretty.

Feb 1st Aaron married his sweetied Marielle in Las Vegas. They went back to Marie's home in Peru in March to process the necessary Visa paperwork and arrived back in the US just before thanksgiving. They are staying with us for a time. The little girl is Marie's neice. This was take outside of Cuzco Peru.

On April 28 Alexander Bryce Culver came into the world and he is a total delight, but grandmas isnt partial

His momma is fond of him as well

In May with Gas prices at $4.50 plus a gallon Roy and I bought outselves a couple of 150cc motor scooters. They are classified as motorcycles by the state of Oregon but are definately more the scooter variety. Roy logged about 1500 miles over the summer on his driving to work each day and I logged about 700 and got my Oregon Motorcycle license. They are parked for the winter, but as soon as the weather gets nice we will be back on them with their 80 mpg

Now back to Alex, isnt he a cutie?

He is just shy of 8 months and has been crawling for a couple months. He says momma, daddy, bottle, cat, and yesterday popped off with grandma, dendle (kendel) and taytay (taylor) he is making grandma suffer and hasnt addressed me yet, but he smiles huge for me and that will do :). I have him three to four days a week while his momma works and we have a great time.

He was a Lion for Halloween and we all taught him to growl, so now he growls all the time but especially loves to during prayer time at church....

I am still volunteering for Smart, doing the same job I was paid for last year. Paid school coordinators went away at the end of last year. I have reduced the number of hours I spend but am still spending a couple days a week working at Roosevelt Smart.

Roy's job is still safe, but things are tought in the timber business. As IT coordinator he has people under him and is happy he has not had to lay anyone off, but wonders how long it will be.

Kendel graduates from University of Portland in May with a Criminal Justice Degree. She hopes to work with Juvenelles in parol and probation.

Kendel and Kyle got formally engaged in September, and will be married on August 15 in Southern Oregon. So.... I need updated mailing addresses asap :)

Kendel ran her last official season of Cross Country this year. Lowering her lifetime PR a bit which made her very happy. She is looking forward to running for fun more and "work" less.

Taylor is now on the highschool team. She especially likes the fun runs that involve lots of mud. She is also taking Ballroom dance classes and especially loves doing that. Roy and I have taken a few too, but us old people do not pick it up as fast at those 16 year olds do!

So the Nelson houshold ends the year as we started ...IN SNOW.

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas. Lots more Nelson photos are and will be available at http://www.nelsonphoto.smugmug.com/ I upload there regularly. Down at the bottom of the page is a gallery called Family and those are all right clickable for anyone who wants one. Its Alex heavy as we all just love taking photos of him :)
